HIDDEN POWER

“The main ingredient of stardom is the rest of the team.” John Wooden

Sometimes they simply lack that spark.
Sometimes individuals and teams perform like they're on fire.
The same ability - the same approach - the same personnel.
But not the same performance.
It's the hidden power.
The hidden power of the mental game.

So how well do you know your team? And how well do they know you and each other? There is one key word in the above statements that disrupts team performance more than any other? Do you know it?

It’s the word ‘hidden’. Hidden means not visible – and that means a lack of openness – and that is the most essential ingredient in building trust. And without trust your team will certainly not perform to its true potential. So where do you start?

Here are a few areas to assess your team. Do your team members.....

• Treat one another with dignity, fairness and respect?
• Support one another when conditions are challenging?
• Avoid hidden agendas - being genuine and upfront with each other?
• Work to ensure relationships don’t sabotage team performance?
• Refuse to hold grudges – running a blame-free culture?
• Keep an open-mind to new ideas and changes?
• Accept being accountable and responsible to the whole team?

These seven elements are just some aspects that were highlighted by work with a high-performance team that Ken Way worked with recently. So if you’d like help with your team contact him here
